Part of their training makes them able to endure more than humans, as well as their physical transformation as they keep training... you'll see all that happen as we go along. You guys are in Makai, the Spirit Paths, and fear of Death has little or no place there. The physical bosies have already been left behind, you're all metaphoric spirits! Yes, I know that some spirits are predatory oni and youkai...
